Connecticut HIV Planning Consortium Meeting

The Connecticut HIV Planning Consortium (CHPC) is a group of people working together to prevent the continuing spread of HIV/AIDS in Connecticut and to care for those infected by HIV/AIDS through public health planning efforts. Public participants are welcome.
Men's Skills Training

Positive Attitudes

A Positive Alternative Center
Positive Attitudes is a HIV positive support group that meets every Wednesday to discuss issues of importance that will lead to "positive attitudes".This group is for both men and women. The group has the benefit of meeting at APAC (A Positive Alternative Center) that offers alternative therapies (Reiki, massage,reflexology,etc.). Participants may take advantage of all services.

Positive Voices: A Support Group for HIV + Men
Time:
4:30pm - 6:00pm

Positive Voices is a support, social and information group for men who are living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. The group was started as a HIV + Gay Men's Group -- but now is open to all HIV + men and those men living with HIV. At meetings there may be presentations on topics such as activism, massage, therapy, yoga, acupuncture, nutrition, research updates, medical updates, and relationships. There are dinners, raffles and movie nights.

HIV in the Family

Group intervention to support family members and friends manage their own needs and concerns regarding an HIV infected loved one. Group facilitator is a mental health professional that will also provide HIV education to family/friends.

Seasons of Life Wellness Retreat

Monthly Spiritual Wellness Retreat for HIV+ persons and caregivers. The theme for Spring is Hope. The March retreat is titled "What is the blueprint for your life?" Many who are infected with HIV occasionally need a shoulder to lean on or a sympathetic ear. MFAP holds support groups in English and Spanish so that our clients have an opportunity to express their feelings. We invite all who are infected with HIV to take part in this healing process.
